Science can answer moral questions

Harris has some interesting ideas, but there are questions that he doesn't address.

What does "well being" mean?

Does Harris really think that it is the same for everyone?

How much of it is culturally constructed?

Does he really think brain structure determines human behavior?

What does "well being" mean?

I agree there's a vagueness to the term, but I think he's keeping it simple: having physical and mental health, self-respect and confidence a sense of not being coerced in the manner in which one chooses to self-express and utilize their growth potentials.

Does Harris really think that it is the same for everyone?

I doubt it. He's talking about the possibility of establishing universal human rights based on rational thought and evidence rather than just cultural habit.

How much of it is culturally constructed?

Sorry, how much of what is culturally constructed? You mean "well being" itself? If so, I'd say a great deal of it, since its part of perception and therefore subject to "brain training".

Does he really think brain structure determines human behavior?

Have you seen the excellent series on the brain presented by Charlie Rose? In the final analysis, I would answer your query in the affirmative. However, I would add that I don't believe that all human experience can be quantified like that.
