As usual, speculation is behind most of it. When you consider the small number of humans who benefit from the rise in food prices vs the mass numbers of people at borderline starvation as it is who will be harmed by the profit taking of the speculators, the only sensible path is to outlaw speculation on essential commodities.
The woman in this report is far closer to the truth than the men.
