
When my father, Al, and I went to Lakeland to meet and greet Elizabeth Edwards stumping for her husband, what immediately struck us both was how smart, dynamic and most of all, how human she was.
Later traumatic events in her life would also demonstrate to the public who grew to respect and admire her, how genuine compassion and humility would underscore her innate resilience and poise.
